I currently offer NeuroMovement (Feldenkrais) sessions to both adults and children.

In my practice, I integrate NeuroMovement with Massage Therapy techniques, as well as some Osteopathic techniques. I am currently studying to become an Osteopath.

Sessions for children

An Anat Baniel Method® NeuroMovement® Lesson consists of the practitioner guiding the child gently through movements patterns in order to help the child feel their own body and increase their awareness of the habitual movement/behavior patterns that they are currently unaware of.

By using variations, and gentle touch it lets the child connect with their internal feeling.

We always start where the child is currently at, and move forward in a way that works with their whole system.

The practitioner is constantly paying attention to the organization of the child’s movements and looking for new ways it communicate information to them, in order to give their nervous system alternate routes or possibilities.

Sessions For Adults

A Functional Synthesis movement lesson is done either while lying on a table, sitting on a chair or standing. In these lessons there is not much talking; you will be asked to feel and to bring awareness to yourself. The NeuroMovement practitioner is communicating through touch, illustrating and showing you your past or present patterns of movement.

The key in these lessons, is for you to be attentive to what you are feeling. By noticing the differences between thing one and two (Eg which shoulder feels heavier) your brain will be able to differentiate that information and create new neural pathways. Also, by differentiating the various trajectories of movement your brain will have other options for more fluid, easy, and simple movement patterns.

Transformational Movement Lessons are done in sitting, standing, or lying on your mat. The practitioner will verbally give instructions of movement sequences and guidelines on doing the movements for the most potent results. These lessons are meant for you to become more aware of yourself, to upgrade how your system is moving, and to increase your capacity for dealing with challenges.

By going slow, moving with attention, and using variations you have a chance to discover the areas of your body that are currently limiting your movement. Once awareness is brought to those areas you can start building on and learning new pathways and trajectories for easier movement. These lessons create new neural networks which facilitates the whole system to function more synergistically together improving comfort, strength and the person’s inner sense of self.
